Writing a Literary Analysis EssayWhen I first started college, I was struggling to find a topic that I could write about. Writing a literary analysis essay was not something I enjoyed but I was getting there. At this point in my academic career, I have found an easy way to organize my thoughts on a particular theme and so I will share that with you here.I choose my topic first. This will be a topic that I am passionate about. It could be because it is related to the topic of my major or it could be because it is a topic that I love writing about. I find that when I do this, my thoughts flow naturally from the theme of my writing.Next, I will start to look at my subjects. I will begin to think about what kind of writing I want to do with this subject. I will be able to write about any topic but I prefer to write about one specific topic. Then I will consider what kind of writer I am. If I have a certain way of thinking, I can write about anything and all I need to do is learn how to h arness my thoughts for that specific subject.Lastly, I will pick a blog topic that I feel passionate about. My passion comes from my personal beliefs or ideas about the topic. If I have a well thought out topic idea, it will show in my writing.I now have a list of topics and I am ready to choose one. The next step is to decide on the title for my essay. What is the subject of my essay?Once I have chosen my topic, I will select a title for my essay. Why do I select a specific title? For starters, if I am writing a literary analysis essay, I will have a lot of different topics to choose from. If I am going to choose a topic from one or two subjects, it will probably take me a few more drafts to really get a good title for my essay.Finally, I will now look at my topic and the theme of my essay. I am now going to get a feel for what topic is best for a literary analysis essay. What type of essay are you looking for? Do you want a short essay with just a few paragraphs? Do you want a lon g essay with several hundred pages of writing?Look at your topic as a canvas for your thoughts. Use your topic as a blank page and then add words and phrases that represent your own unique style and personality.
